With years of experience in and around the fashion industry – writing and styling for several publications, running a fashion business, and working closely with New Orleans Fashion Week for the past 6 seasons - designing a collection was the clearest next step for Lana. Joined by her seamstress mother and architect sister, she created HUNT COLLECTIVE, a clothing brand combining each of the creative Hunts’ keenest talents. Only formerly trained in fashion design for a year, Lana is a lifelong understudy of her mother, Sherlyn. Together, armed with original artwork of Danielle, Lana’s sister, HUNT COLLECTIVE is proud to present its Sophomore collection, Kenesis, at New Orleans Fashion Week. Original prints and artwork define the collection, which showcases a fine balance of edge and class.
The Hunts three are from Zachary, Louisiana. The daughters have both tested the waters in other states, Lana in California and Danielle in New York, but ultimately they are a Louisiana family through and through.
NOLAFW is a week away. Take your time recovering from Mardi Gras and make sure to purchase a AW 2014 supporter pass before it’s too late! http://ow.ly/ulSXR
The Marigny Opera House Welcomes NOLAFW
If you played along in our little insta-game and guessed that this UHH-MAZZZING venue is the Marigny Opera House…you were CORRECT!
The Marigny Opera House, branded as the “neighborhood church of the arts”, hosts private gatherings, events, plays, artistic performances of all sorts… and this season… NOLA Fashion Week!
The Marigny Opera House is supported by the Marigny Opera House Foundation, which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the work of local performing artists.
This stunning architectural structure, formerly known as the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, is celebrated for its natural acoustics, tall windows, wide archways, and forty- foot high convex ceilings… swoon!
Sounds perfect to us! We can just imagine our models strutting their designer garments down the runway now…
Founders Scott King and Dave Hurlbert purchased the building in July of 2011, with plans to rejuvenate some of its most remarkable features. Their goal was to create an excellent resource to assist the arts community in its growth… and we must say, they’ve outdone themselves!
We cant wait to see you there!
